Cocktails

Pina Coladas, Margaritas Mojitos, Martinis and more. You’ll love our cocktails – from the old favourites to the more imaginative, enjoy a cocktail in the courtyard or cleanse the palate before dinner.

Pina colada – “If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain. If you´re not into yoga, if you have half a brain…” Need we say more? Escape to The Old Victoria for one of these delicious cocktails. Made from rum and coconut cream and sweetened with pineapple juice, this cocktail dates back to the 1950s. From its purported origins in the Caribe Hilton Hotel’s Beachcomber Bar in San Juan this cocktail has stood the test of time in bars across the globe. So kick back and drift off to to your Puerto Rican escape as you laze in the sun in our courtyard.

Water Melon Bliss – a refreshing cocktail that will cool the senses, cleanse the palate and bring a spark of summer to your day. Made from vodka and watermelon, the cocktail is sure to refresh.

Espresso martini – a sophisticated little number that originated in Soho, London in the 1980s. It is a sumptuous mix of vodka, hazelnut liqueur and a shot of espresso that gives this cocktail a rich depth of flavour and will bring a hit of caffeine to your day. Enjoy it as a party cocktail or an indulgent digestif after a meal (aiding digestion).

Cosmopolitan (or cosmo as some like to call it) – this cocktail should be its own food group. While its origins are hotly disputed there is no doubt that its future is as bright as the cocktail itself. In our version we have Australian-ised it by swapping out the traditional vodka citron (lemon flavoured vodka) and replaced it with our very own lemon myrtle vodka. This, teamed with triple sec, fresh lime juice and cranberry juice makes this a vibrant and refreshing drink.

Margarita – the world’s most popular cocktail. Its origins – like the Cosmopolitan – are hotly debated but it seems to have Mexico written all over it. Using the best ingredients in perfect balance this mix of tequila, triple sec and fresh lime is tart, zingy and satisfying. It will cleanse the palate before dinner and cool you down on a hot summer’s day.

Mojito – just like you get at the bar La Bodeguita Del Medio in Cuba. This simple and delightful drink is made from a perfect blend of Bacardi rum, fresh mint, lime juice and brown sugar and topped with soda water.  You’ll love it.

Old Fashioned – just what you would expect in a hotel that epitomises “old fashioned”. Originating from Kentucky and dating back to 1881, the name of this cocktail is almost as old as The Old Victoria itself. Made from reserve scotch whiskey, orange bitters, sugar syrup with fresh orange, this cocktail is a rich, decedant, aromatic palate cleanser that needs to be enjoyed slowly, by an open fire and just before dinner. How good is that?

Bacon Old Fashioned – a twist on the Old Fashioned cocktail with smoked bacon. Question: How can you improve on the perfect mix of reserve scotch whiskey, orange bitters, sugar syrup with fresh orange? Answer: with bacon of course. Question: Does life get any better? Answer: Heck no!

Manhattan – invented sometime in the late 18th century, this cocktail rivals the martini in terms of bold flavour and smooth delivery. The perfect blend of bourbon, sweet vermouth, bitters, sugar syrup and garnished with a maraschino cherry.
